Whilst my impression of Furner is that of an honourable man, so I expect him still to come, it would be a bit embarrassing for GH if he didn't. I'm sure that we are a big enough draw to get another good coach in should Furner not come, but I expect he will do.

I agree. I think we should have gone for Griffin in the first place, but we went for Furner, and I fully expect he will honour his deal, and think this is just a non news item.

He will have fully understood what was going to happen with Siebold when he took the Leeds job, and Souths had every chance to approach him before that. I would guess that will be his thinking too.

I guess we'll find out later today, but what worries me is that Furner hasn't take the opportunity to rubbish these reports directly, which he could have. Hetherington's comments sounded like he hasn't got the story "from the horse's mouth" either.

However I think Furner is an honourable type and it would leave a mess if he did the U-turn.

Well, worst-case scenario there might be a chance of Demetriou or even Bennett. We'll just have to roll with it if Furner stays in Sydney.
