TBH I think we'd struggle to win a raffle if we bought all the tickets at the moment. A few beers in the sun must seem like a very inviting prospect for most of them right now...
Regardless of anything else GH wants success on the field. He may have stuffed up over the last couple of years, but to suggest this season's 'performances' are part of some master plan to avoid paying money for something (or to get rid of Bluey) beggars belief.
Whilst BM seems to be an unmitigated disaster, I haven't read anything that makes sense in the real world that was 2009-10 that GH should have done much differently to what he actually did. Most of the suggestions on here around rebuilding at that time require either us to have not had as good a chance at winning the Championship in 2009 due to resturcuturing or having a crystal ball which suggested that the wheels would start to fall off in 2010 (when in fact most people believed the 2010 squad WAS significantly stronger than 2009 at the start of the season).
What GH needs to take responsibility for is dumping BM into a job he doesn't seem ready for (regardless of the platitudes trotted out by various senior players over the season), and lumbering him with two of the worst overseas signings we've made in the last 20 years as major components of his rebuilding. GH rather than BM is also responsible for any 'player power' issues that may exist, if he hasn't completely and fully backed the coach in that regard.
For f*** sake don't talk any sense on here. You'll be lynched along with Richie and the like.
Much better to believe that GH gets it right by accident and wrong on purpose.
Every player in our squad could probably earn more money with another club. But they prefer to sacrifice a few extra quid in their back pocket to share special memories. And playing at a place like Old Trafford on a night like this makes it all worthwhile.
At the time of appointing BMD and JL, it looked a mind-blowingly bad decision. It was celebrated by supporters of rival clubs. It just seemed to be absolute nonsense.
It has proved as big a disaster as it promised to be - that is GH's fault as far as I'm concerned, they were ludicrous appointments.

Why do you struggle with this so much?
What people have said, me continuously at the time, was that we should have rebuilt in 2009 for the 2010 season, and most certainly at the beginning of 2010 for the 2011 season.
Rebuilding is not for the season you are competing in, but for the next season. Players do not often move midseason, but only for the start of new seasons. We should have been planning the necessary changes for 2010 in 2009, simple as that.
I have said all season, the likes of Mcguire, Peacock, Burrow, Buderus, Webb, do not go rubbish overnight, id go as far as saying your poor season is completely down to awful coaching, he has to go.
We are a team who are badly lacking structure and above all confidence. While time has marched on for quite a few of our "stars" they are capable of putting in a shift better than what they displayed on Sunday. I think the problems are a combination of poor recruitment, bad coaching and a certain whiff of apathy from players. All can be fixed but we do seem to be going for the stick instead of the carrott option at the moment.
