Along with that Wigan semi it was one of the finest game specific plans i've seen from a Leeds coach. I don't think masterclass is overstating it. If we'd kept 13 men I reckon we'd have won.

The only reason we were close to winning the Saints game was down to the decisions the coach made in terms of tactics and personnel. A 50 point spanking would have been the par score.

Sounds like he wanted to be a coach in everything but name for us. If your involved in the coaching side of things and performances aren’t going well, you’re going to be under scrutiny. Perhaps he didn’t think he should be.

Do you know having read both his and Hetheringtons statements I think this is for the best, it seems they both had different opinions on what the job entailed, seems all of us that thought he was working up to be chief exec when gary retires were wrong and he did want to be more involved in the on field stuff?

That’s my take on it too. From a cost perspective, he’d have demanded a big wage, but so would a head coach. Not sure 2 large salaries in the coaching department is either justifiable or practical at the current time.
