We’ve missed out there. Surprised we didn’t look to get it re done. Makes me more concerned about us going forward playing squad wise.

It might not be a popular view but I will actually be OK if the squad doesn't change too much in the next year or so, I think it seems the club has done a great job in keeping the squad happy with the payouts etc and I think it might be rather unsettling to the squad if were suddenly out spending money on players.

I also think one of the good things to come out of this whole situation is that the younger players will get more of a chance especially if P&R is scrapped for this year.

Would have thought if anything it would cement the deals. Toronto will probably be chasing more English players.

I'm not totally sure that's the last of Field. Let's see how it plays out when Moses is back. I suspect he'd be happy to be part of the Eels 17, but I doubt that is a certainty. If we really want him and are prepared to put up a fight I still think it could happen.

Totally agree. Nothing but the usual hysteria on here when a couple of players might possibly be leaving. Especially when you consider the utter slagging Myler has taken on these boards.

It's fine if they stay, it's fine if they go. We are in a decent position squad wise. Of course it could be better but it could be worse, just look at last season!

Given the current COVID-19 and Financial status of both the club and the game, I’d be surprised if there is much change in our squad for next season. Perhaps a couple might leave, but they will be replaced by kids, which should always be the first port of call.

The only way we will build another generation of goldens is by giving them first shot.

Agreed.

He's playing in a Parra team that are running hot.

He won't want to be back in 2nd grade and I can see him here for next season especially given links with Agar & his time at St George.

He can't say 'yeah I'm going to Super League next year' if Parra have given him a contract for this year

That would be really unclassy and disrespectful. Like Bateman.

Personally I think making any signings during this period will be counter productive when we are cutting wages across the entire organisation. I would be happy to make no new signings for next year, even with the rumoured outgoings.

It's no coincidence the club's making signings are the ones whose existing players are not onboard with any proposed wage cuts.Team spirit comes first.

Looks a really promising player but we're not desperate for a half are we? A top quality prop if one becomes available and then let the kids prove their worth next year.
