Nothing wrong with consolidation after being in div 3 for 3yrs and that was the noises the club made pre-season.
Like i said i'm chuffed where we are and would be more than happy to stay in this league establish ourselves and build up for a promotion push ,but as the league stands there's a real chance of going up and IF we are serious about it them IMO adding a couple of quality players could be the difference between going up and staying where we are.

i didn't go to the game but a lot of you said johnson was ' a parks player'. at a party last night a former european cup winner said he had a very good game.
who should i believe?

Depends. Winning a European Cup doesnt mean you are any good. Is this person a manager now? If not, why not? Maybe he couldnt spot a good player?

Johnson is busy and enthusiastic, but that doesn't hide the fact that he's not very good. Granted he scored a goal yesterday, one which should be a stock goal for a midfielder, but he missed a whole bunch of tackles and gave the ball away a lot.

I appreciate that you get what you pay for, and he's probably decent value for money, however I would prefer to have a slightly smaller squad of better players, and the balance made up of kids who can come in and learn.

Fair point. However fans, myself included, sometimes don't realise how good a player is or what he brings to a team. Nigel Martyn once told me that the best and most influential player he ever played with was Thomas graveson. He reckons he was outstanding yet Martyn has played with far higher profile players in his time.

and the person in question was dalglish's chief scout at blackburn so i think he can spot a player. but it's all about opinions i guess
