I'd rather we get 1 good player than 2 average ones. We can and should look at giving more kids a go. With our current squad we've got 5 over 30s today - if you assume in 3 years they will all have gone then we need to replace 1 or 2 per year over the next three years. Thats assuming that our better younger forwards (Parcell, Ward, Garbutt) stay as well. The problem is if the older guys just keep hanging on and the club doesn't force the issue by not renewing some contracts, we'll be in an even worse spot next year and the year after that.

Cuthbo's signed up again! Him & Parcell were the ones I was most worried about losing - but the sleeve knows how to do things with a spin 2 keep us on the hook!

But it is getting depressing currently, seeing most other sides looking at and getting top signings, where at present, although just an assumption, we mess about with aged plodders when we have a bigger need to replace than others.

To be fair Uate will be 31 by the time the season starts, and is past his best, but it's a good signing for them.

Leeds always seem to announce contract extensions first, so I'm not too concerned at the moment. The signings we've made in the last few years have pretty astute, so I think we'll see atleast 2 or 3 new players next year anyway.

League Express reporting that Briscoe, Mullally, and Walters have agreed new contracts which will be announced this week... Pretty happy about that, although I wouldn't have kept Walters, although it'll be worth it just to see the hilarious overreaction on here

Briscoe i could see that one happening tbf but the other 2 meh id pick Trout & Holroyd NOW over both of them.
