Smith said he was playing Gannon at half back so he could understand what a half back needs of his second row, running lines etc. I'd be very surprised if he actually played there in a competitive game.

I think RS doesn't necessarily think the Myler type fullback is the best for the style he wants to play going forward. He's said we play too much out the back, which was Agar's go to play (or allowing Leeming or Dwyer to scoot) and that's why Myler to FB made sense using his ability to pick the right pass when there was an overlap.

I get the impression he wants the best athlete at fullback, the way Tedesco plays, so more of a broken field runner than a play maker, which I think is what the NRL are reverting to now anyway.

Smith also said he can see Gannon as a running six in the future.

A very winnable game given home advantage and two weeks preparation to get rid of niggly injuries.

The team just need to perform to their potential if they do that and get beat nobody can ask anymore.

That is a good point - he just needs to be mentally agile like his father - that will more than make up for a quick leg speed

I really do hope we don`t tinker too much with the team Friday.
Just play Sinfield preferably at 7 leave Myler at FB, Handley on the wing and Martin at SR.
One change instead of several.
Myler isn`t any good in the halves, Handley isn`t really a FB and Martin is far better in the pack.
Why all the tinkering?

Uncle Tony looks to have breathed some life into fc. Why do they deliberate so much on simple video decisions.

Smith sees Handley as the longterm answer at Fb and Bentley is still preferred as backup 9 personally I don't understand his thinking but he's an Rl coach and I'm not so I'll go figure
