Re: Agar out : Thu Mar 10, 2022 10:50 pm
Accepting all the players responsibilities in this mess, 2 key indicators for agar; his comments about half time at Wigan and his pushing the panic button on Johnson tonight hoping one man band Dwyer would get him out of trouble. He has to go now, with the resources he's got it doesn't get much worse.

I've defended Agar when others have called for his head but i its time for him to move upstairs and someone to take the reins.

Same here, i think hes a great guy and should move into the role he came in to do.

We do have a great crop of youngsters and I don’t think the team is as bad as tonight but something isn’t right and it needs to change I think, I’ve always said if the team play with pride and passion i can forgive losses and the odd beating but im getting to the point where enough is enough, the players have to take some responsibility but so does Agar and to be fair to him i think he will

Re: Agar out : Fri Mar 11, 2022 12:13 am
If the coach has lost the dressing room its all over. As several have suggested, that looked like a side wanting to see the coach gone. Hopefully GH recognises that we can't let it drag on like we did with Furner. If he wants to turn things around this season he needs to act now.

The squad has issues, but if we got a quality coach in things would change a lot. I understand that some of our supposedly weaker players aren't the worst, but I think that's probably because some of our better players aren't even trying.

I reckon Sezer may well have realized he was sold a lemon on joining Leeds. He was no doubt impressed by Headingley and talk of ambition etc. But then he's seen what he's playing with and perhaps not surprisingly he may be one of the senior players self-sabotaging the team. We'd all prefer him and others to show 'fight' - but he and Austin are in their 30s and Leeds is probably their last big gig.

So many issues with the squad are self-inflicted. Lack of big props has been a problem for several seasons, and this obsession with 'middles' keeps getting shown up as utterly flawed. If we'd made props a focus and not signed King last year and signed and re-signed Thompson our pack could look entirely different.

Re-signing hacks has been a constant problem, as it smacks of no ambition. And in some roles young players aren't given proper chances while championship-standard players keep getting picked. Does anyone think some of the other players can't see these things?

We all know the definition of madness is to keep doing the same and expecting different results. Sadly Agar is in the vortex of bad results leading to conservatism leading to more bad results.

Think that’s a fair summary, however if that’s Sezer’s attitude then it would stink (it might well be but might not) I don’t think Austin has been all that bad, he does seem to have a decent attitude.

Agar isn’t daft, he’s alluded to it in his presser, he’s very honest and has pretty much said that if this group of players, and there is talent in there, don’t perform going forward the fault lies squarely on his shoulders.

If he has lost the dressing room then I think he’ll walk away.

I understand that we'd all prefer players to put in 100% every week. But everyone's different. Sezer is playing in a side with no go-forward, getting horrible service from acting half and passing to centres who kill the play which means we have no width as well. I'm not sure what exactly he's supposed to do with that. Even Andrew Johns would struggle.

Sezer got caught on the last twice, or three times and they were both his fault, he’s the controlling half back he should be dictating when and how he gets it. I totally get that if the team is getting steam rolled the spine players have a difficult task but he has to do better than he has been. Im in no way blaming him for tonights shambles though.

It’s unrealistic that players will give 100% all the time but id expect more than they gave tonight

Re: Agar out : Fri Mar 11, 2022 1:02 am
We all want to see 100% every game. But if players have decided the coach is the problem then some of them will just stop trying. Its human nature. Gus Gould spoke about this some time ago - it just gets to the point where clubs have no choice but to change the coach. I hope Agar has the chance to move upstairs with some dignity, but even then he needs to acknowledge that some of the gaps in the squad are down to the fact he hasn't pushed for certain things - like quality props. Problem is many more displays like this and moving upstairs might cease to be an option.
