Apart from the mile walk to the stadium from the 'coach park' I was very impressed. The concourses were a bit open though.

I'll add that at 5pm all of the concourse bars were still closed?
How much money are the Saints losing in bar takings?

A very nice compact and tidy stadium, the pitch was in excellent condition as should be expected with a brand new stadium <apart from Wembley>

I can't understand why they didn't make the stadium a complete bowl like Doncaster, surely they will eventually wish to increase the capacity and will build these corners, so why not do it at the outset?

I must say that on the whole the Saints club deserve great credit in actually delivering this new stadium and without bankrupting the club in doing so
bearing in mind that the club they are supposed to be in the constant shadow of actually don't actually own anywhere to call home and have to pay rent

I thought it was a cracking stadium & the weather was perfect too.
In all the six years I worked in St Helens I don't recall it ever being as sunny as that.
Probably due to the fact that the brewery & most of the glassmaking & other factories that used to continuouisly belch out smok & fumes have all closed down.
Seriously, McManus & his board are to be congratulated on the new ground & the pitch is now full size.

“You are playing a game of football this afternoon but more than that you are playing for England, and more even than that, you are playing for right versus wrong. You will win because you have to win. Don’t forget that message from home. England expects every one of you to do his duty.”

Re: Langtree Park : Mon Mar 26, 2012 7:51 pm
The sun was awful, but that is sky's fault for picking the kick off time.
Free parking and not having to wait to leave is good, the beer was pretty good and the atmosphere helped by the design of the stadium
Strange about the missing corner and I thought there might have been demand for standing on the sideline rather than just behind the goals.

We were told a corner was left open to allow access for emergency vehicles.

As for standing on the side that would, I assure you been the supporters choice given we previously had the popular side at Knowsley Road. Its not as good watching from behind the sticks but hey in this day and age you just have to be thankful we have terracing at all !! At least they listened to the fans in that respect.
