Slightly O/T but I don't wonder we get called the Whinos. Blokes behind me think everything is the ref's fault.
Which, to be fair, I used to think too before they invented Sky+. At the match, you shout and ball at the ref, getting everything wrong, costing you the game, blah blah blah, then get home and watch it back and realise he got most (if not all) of the decisions correct. It only takes a match or two of doing this to realise, the ref's get most stuff right. It just doesn't look it from the stand. I've started defending ref's at games now, which causes more trouble than it's worth really.
It always makes me laugh when the ref gives a penalty against us and at some point during the following 5 minutes we concede a try, and they pipe up "Well played Ganson!!", "Chalk those 4 points to the f**king Ref!", "You're a disgrace ref!".
a) The penalty was probably correct.
b) It's not the ref's fault we didn't defend the resulting set properly is it!
