What can I say, I suppose I'm not a hardened one team fan who'd see his team in a final over anything else. I'd not question the effort and haven't done but it was another dour game, I get that playoffs are attritional of course but not littered with caughing the ball up and generally poor play, both teams had enough out there to produce better. I can't think of more than half a dozen good games this year and circumstances permitting that bothers me as someone who cares about the wider game. But hey 'my teams in a semi' so who cares about all that.
I can see your point of view mate. In terms of Leeds, this is a really good season and positive step forwards for us though, and we have much more to look forward to in the future with this young team I'm sure.
We haven't had a settled half back combination all year, and we have several key players half-fit. Wouldn't be surprised to see the usual off-season surgery rush...
For morale and the experience for the young lads, it is about progression in the comp this time of year. We won't be able to play as conservatively/poorly as that and win the title (I hope), so we'll see. Think Wigan kind of drag you down into their attritional style.
The wider game, yes of course it is a concern but there have been some great games (magic comes to mind) and you know if the hard core fans keep focusing only on the problems, what chance do new/potential fans/sponsors have? There are lots of positives too, it's more a choice of what you want to look at.
