Agar describes Cronulla rumours as a "non story." Says he is happy at the club.

Controversially, if we’re not going to really challenge for the title this year, what’s the point in bringing Austin in? Game time could go to McLelland when fit.

It would be more useful to learn about McLelland in the first team than it would be to waste money on a player unlikely to be here next season, IMO.

Sorry but this smacks of finding players on a bargain rather than building the side for the future but maybe it’s just me.

Because we have seen enough to know Mclelland is not good enough, championship std at best.

I think some of our fans don't understand the impact this pandemic has had. We also have to deal with a 25% drop in TV revenue, and have to start repaying the government loan in 18 months time, all of this where we have no crowds and have a stadium to pay for.
Anyway, Leeds won't pay a fee for Trueman because he's planning on going to the NRL in 2023, so paying a fee wouldn't be worth it for just one season, it's nothing to do with GH being a cheapskate!

The operating model has clearly been disproportionately affected at Leeds due to our circumstances as covid hit. The Caddick group are not going bankrupt however and if they are truly invested in the long term future of the club then its time.to give some additional financial support to secure the right leadership structure moving forward and spend the salary cap. Whens restrictions lift fans will come back and stadiums will be full if we have a competitive team and players that get people on their feet. Another 3 years of mid table mediocrity watching our Lancashire neighbours win everything will see half full stadiums, empty hospitality boxes and our best young players move elsewhere.

They have provided more support, in the millions.
But nobody should be under any illusions that the relationship between Leeds and the clubs owners is anything like that at say Huddersfield or Warrington, Saints or even Wigan. This is largely a transactional relationship and the Caddick family are not the type to chuck money down the plughole in the pursuit of silverware.

The Caddick group are doing very very well. Construction is booming. I’d be surprised if they’ve not pumped money in already to assist.

PEOPLE BEFORE PROFIT!

Cronulla : Wed Jun 16, 2021 10:05 am
I just read an article about Agar going to Cronulla and taking Edwards and Gannon with him. Great experience for those young men, but awful for Rhinos future.

Something was on Leeds Live yesterday. Had direct quotes from Agar, but has subsequently been removed.
