I'm afraid we've become a club associated with mediocre forwards. I'm not knocking any of their efforts but the following are all lower SL standard - Higgins, Jones, Huby, Jackson, Clayton, Netherton, even Hudson is looking half the player he was. James, unless he has come on a ton since his Bradford days is another in that class. Ferres, Snitch & Westerman is a good back row but too light. Sargent is quality but is not on long enough to be fully effective.
On the contrary I think Huby's really stepped up to the mark in the last year or so; Hiiggins usually makes an impact; and Jones and Jackson are work horses who contribute gretaly to our defensive effort in the middle of the field.
Hudson doesn't seem to be being given the necessary game time to make a major impact at the moment, which is a concern as he's the captain and should be leading the team. Netherton always speeds up the ruck when he comes on and often takes some of the workload (and focus) from the halfbacks.
I wouldn't class these players as mediocre, more unsung contributors who get on with the job and combine well as a pack. There are weaknesses, and there are strengths, but can't the same be said of all Super League sides? Our main problem, as many have already mentioned is simply lack of depth.
