He always said he wanted to stay at Cas and wasn't interested in going anywhere else. Just proves he is as good as his word and loyal.

Hats off to him and your club for securing him, like I said must be costing you a good wedge, media wise your club need to up there game a bit! Your club sites isn't even updated and the conference was supposedly 30 minutes ago!

The contract extension of Rangi Chase is indeed great news, but is it still news when most of us have known it for the last few weeks anyway? It is just a contract after all - the announcement won't stop Leeds, Warrington and Hull fans constantly reminding us that contracts aren't worth the paper they're written on.

The decision to call a press conference to announce this 'news' is an epic fail on the club's part and has clearly made a negative impact with the fans who desperately want to see the squad strengthened.

Our club is becoming a complete joke for stunts like this.

It's one of those damned if you do and damned if you don't scenario's...
If the club had just put on the website that a current player would be signing an extension to his contract, then it wouldn't have attracted anywhere near the same kind of publicity as this announcement has...
It's massive and no doubt cost the club a lot of money, so they did right to make something of it and we've arguably tied up the best player in Superleague on a long term contract, a player who has been instrumental in the relative success we've enjoyed, had it not been for our horrendous injuries I'm sure we would have gone on to even better things in 2011.
We do need more signings, but this sends out all the right kinds of signals to the rugby league world and to players we may want to bring onboard.
I have to applaud everyone concerned with making this happen!
Also have to thank Rangi for putting his faith in the club, as I know there will have been a lot of pressure on him from other quarters.

Ya know i thought exactly the same..have a word in his shell get him to sign extended contract so it in theory puts any future transfer fee up. He will no doubt get a pay rise off his new club & cas will get a nice lump in the bank.

Or of course he loves cas & is happy to stay!
