Why bring me into it.

I feel a sense of smug vindication over this matter that only increases daily

Seriously, these are crucial times for both clubs, and due to the sums of money involved and the current economic climate I feel that virtually all who post on this forum myself included are now well out of our depth. I suspect even Ted Richardson and Richard Wright have very little say in what happens next and are basically riding the wave. There are some big hitters involved, certainly in the Wakey development and they are not the kind of people who let things slip down the local.

I personally feel that both stadium development have long since moved from the grasp of the average fan no matter how well informed they feel they are.

Good luck to us all, we will need it :(

For once i agree with you vasty, you havent felt the need to tell us about our finances or stadium for a long time so shouldnt have been brought into it.

Well having spent such a long time portraying yourself as the font of all knowledge on such matters, why not ask?

For once I agree with you regarding the stadia - but it's good that there is positive news coming from both clubs.

I think much of what I have said in the past has come true IMHO. That said I know when I'm out of my depth, and I have certainly lost the plot on both clubs in recent month. All I know is that the whole thing has escalated way beyond us mere fans and I just plain don't know enough anymore to pontificate how I once did. I miss it  but all good things come to an end, me and Rodney Walker simply haven't gelled :)

Wakies new ground : Fri Dec 25, 2009 7:37 pm
Not sure if I am right but....I have read that the new wakie ground is due to cost around £19 million and that they are hoping to get around £12 million from the sale of belle vue, but did sainsburys not buy the land off them a few years back?!

 If only!

Ground has been sold for about £2.7m. Stadium is funded by the land the council has loaned the trust and the extensive development surrounding the stadium.

Some quick news I got on the stadium this week:
Surfworld are investing £20m!! into the project with Surfworld as a complex only going to be costing about 5-7m...
There's a sliproad being built in the new year round the back of McDonalds/KFC/B&Q straight to the stadium.
Building work should be finished no later then June 2011

Less than 12 months to build a stadium? I think that's VERY optimistic.

Oh, and I wouldn't trust your source..

Business partners Mick Harrison, 48, of Kippax, and Graham Gatenby, 47, have formed a partnership with Leeds social enterprise agency Camberwell for the project – expected to cost around £15m and open in 2011.

5m "spare" then, still enough to finish the construction of the stadium there I'd think. 12-18 months to build a stadium is actually plenty of time now a days too with builds of this size usually taking 12-14 months and with the amount of workers that will be on this project it's very doable.

The slip road round the back, which will be built by my source of this new info and his team, is instead of a new junction (which would have cost 5m - not viable). and will ease congestion around the Ford garage on a match day.
