Regarding our own ground, it seems we're being spun another false date by the BOD - planning permission meant to be submitted in October? Well October only has a week to run and we haven't heard anything for ages...

The truth is both schemes are no longer connected in any way IMO and you simply can't compare the two. By this I mean both projects are out of the hands of the respective clubs and very much dependent on the respective developers. It's a case now of which one has most in place and can move quickest. In the current financial crisis nothing is certain but none the less it's a massive advance from the Thornes wreckage of two years ago. Which at least gives me the impression that there is a sense of urgency about our scheme which makes me feel hopefull.

I can only wish you the best, other than that I can't comment as I no longer have any idea what the Cas plan of action now is.

I think it's been a question of whose was the most difficult next step...planning permission for Wakey, funding for Cas. This afternoon they appear to be nearer to clearing their biggest hurdle than we are.

Salford, Cas and Wakefield all now have planning permission. If all 3 press on, then I fear one of them may well go out of business when they get the chop from SL. You can't build a new stadium in the championship without major investment from the council. The sponsor money just isn't there.

It isn't a battle for a licence anymore it could be a battle for the existance of the club. 3 teams, 3 stadiums 2 places.

We can't play any delaying tactics now that's for sure.

If we hit every one of those dates Wright has pin-pointed - we'll be fine.

The pitch down and diggers on-site are a must before the franchises are announced.

And how do Super league kick any of the clubs you mention out of the league if they all hit the criterea?I'd suggest they'd have to expand by one.

They've already said they will keep it at 14, and that one club is definatly going up, so we may well end up with a club being demoted for one with a poorer franchise application.

That'd be an interesting court case!!
