Didn't realise there was an "attendance argument"
(i.e. what's there to argue about?)

We've both recently played the Bulls at home - check the figures - end of debate.

... oh, unless we move onto the hilarious recent CC game against a competitive NL1 side (Cas would get double that against an amateur side).

On the ground topic - fair play to you - at the moment there seems to be more happening than there is with us - but as already stated, you are approximately 2 years behind us - so anything we do before then is a bonus.

My point exactly, thanks for helping me prove it!.............l really don't care if you average more than 'us', why is it even any interest to you?????

As said previously, just imagine the team we could put out if and when we get a new stadium and generate more money!!!! As we seem to do reasonable well at the moment with our 'poor crowds'

Vasty, I think you have overstated the average but regarding the differential of 1000 you have to bear in mind Cas finished bottom and were thrashed most weeks wheras Wakey had prolonged periods of good form and reached the cup semis. My argument being that unlike Cas, Wakey will struggle to increase/maintain a fanbase without a new stadium (I suspect attendances are down at Belle Vue this season despite the team's excellent start). I do not subscribe to the myth that Wakey will never again draw bigger crowds than Cas but I believe they will have to play elsewhere to do so.

Absolutely spot on!!! Not sure many Wakey fans will disagree, but as l, and many wakey fans have said, we have the bigger potential.......that does not mean we will achieve it though!

He overstated that too.

Agree with your argument, though. Sadly, we will not grow significantly as a club if we continue to play at Belle Vue. The place has limited appeal, now, regardless of the quality of the entertainment.

Thats a very good argument Vasty, except for the small fact that its a load of crap!http://www.sportinglife.com/rugbyleague/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=rleague/09/01/30/RUGBYL_Super_Guide.htmlLast years average attendance for Wakefield was 7000. Why let facts fet in the way eh?

Sorry you are correct it was 7000, I plucked my figure from memory.

Your bitterness to carry on your personal vendetta against me is to be admired, however in your haste you clearly didn't look at your own average gate.

I actually credited you with 1000 more than us when in fact it was a meagre 500 - Oh dear. This further bust the Cas attendance myth - does it not.

Obviously I offer my humble apologies for being a bit random with the exact figure knowing as I do what a pedant some posters are. However I'm happy you have proved my actual point with your scrupulous research far better than I did - thanks :D

You mean they're about where we were two years ago: on the starting block? ;)

Good news for them, after the fiasco of Thorpe Park, but let's not get over excited :)

Think you may have fallen off it though it only appears that you and a few others ever believed you were ever on it, but don't get too excited will you

Not at all unlike some fans my only concerns are for Cas, I coudln't give two hoots what other clubs are doing. I personally hope Wakie get their new ground, they are after all a local team with loads of history and I love RL as a whole.

Also, if you care to read the previous posts it wasn't me that brought up attendances, it was Vastman. I merely pointed out that as usual his post was a fabrication.

Prove it, find a single statement I have made about Cas that is a fabrication?

That's an actual fabrication, not a statement you choose to believe is one - you saying it's wrong doesn't make it so.
