Think your right mate. Hudds could be a tough bunch this season. I think a lot of teams have recruited well enough to be better teams than 2008 and closing the gap on the top two although still a way off but we are all getting closer.
First game of the season is always a bit of a lottery so its disappointing to hear that Cas fans are booing their team. :NAUGHTY: Quins are usually slow starters and always have to play 'catch up' so this win is a real bonus and moral booster, but if we'd lost and given 100% it would be OK and roll on next week. One game proves nothing folks

Totally agree with you, booing on the opening game is a massive over reaction, even more so at Cas who had 10 debutants on show today, i'm sure it will have been a minority though. Cas's downfall this season I feel will be their recruitment, not that they have recruited badly, far from it but for me they have recruited too heavily and brought in too many new faces and it will take time for them to gel. Towards the back end of last season Cas were showing signs that they could compete in super league and had some great wins but they've got to start from virtually scratch again rather than having to build on last seasons end with a steady influx of fresh blood.

I agree  :?

IMO all we needed was a couple of new faces to bring us up to scratch rather than a near full new squad. Today was a disappointment, i expected us to look a much fitter and more well prepared team with 4 friendlies under out belts and Quins with none i thought we would lead out stronger, it didn't work out today which left a lot of fans disappointed, however that is still no excuse for the booing at full time

I'm trying to think of the last time we beat Quins at home. It seems to be a bogey game for us.

It was two teams struggling in attack. I don't think the conditions helped, it really seemed to bog everything down and as has been mentioned the lack of time playing together was also a factor.

All we need is someone who can kick goals. I don't expect someone to kick everyone but we need a kicker who has a chance of getting between the posts. Not once did I have confidence that Dixon was going to kick either of the attempts he had!!

Also what thehell were we doing passing a ball within our own 20 with around 10 seconds on the clock, it should have been up the jumper one man rugby at that point!!

Today was a good platform for what we need to work on for the rest of the season.

Yes it was a shame we lost because we could have snatched the game right at the end, but at the end of the day we were lacking just a few ideas in attack. I believe Quins deserved to win the game as there defence was superb.

I can take a lot of positives from the game, our forward's ran the ball in well, and our outside backs looked dangerous in attack everytime they got the ball, which to be fair they didnt get enough of. I thought our defence was pretty good as well, and if we learn to cut silly mistakes & fine tune a bit of positional play (Goldy needs to work at been a fullback) we will come good sooner rather than later.

One massive point for me today the fact that we lacked direction in attack, Chase is a good player (and will be more free to play his natural game, when hes back at 6) and ive been impressed so far but the lad hasnt got much of a kicking game and needs to time his passes a little better, BUT this is SHERWIN comes in. One of the best kicking games in SL and can organise a team just as good deacon does with the Bulls. When he come's back we will be very dangerous in the opposition's half.

Remember people we are a team in the making and im looking forward to next 3 season's as weve got a great base to build on!

On a sad note, the Boo boys at the end, get a grip or dont bother comin darn't lane!!
