In light of the Crusaders administration the RFL are set to announce that the 2012 licence system is to postponed until 2015 so the current 14 SL clubs can stabilise.
Fear that Cas or Wakey would take RFL to court if they lost their licence ahead of Crusaders has seen the RFL backdown.
The RFL are keen to see the Welsh team stay in the elite division so it seems sensible that this postponement happens.
Fev and Batley have already withdrawn their applications upon being told while other clubs speak to the legal representitives.
It is thought Widnes are very angry at the news but at end of the day it does seem that the RFL have taken the sensible decision in the current financial climate.
Reports in todays Yorkshire Sport and several other papers say the RFL will allow all the clubs who have qualified to apply in 2012 will all be able to apply in 2015.
