Dixon kicked 2 from 5 (but judging by what i've just seen on the rerun on Sky, Dicko kicked another!)
So to say Dicko isn't good enough compared to Hodgson on tonights showing is a little strange. To then use El Masri is even dafter since the guy just broke the record for NRL points. I'd love us to have one of the worlds best kickers in our side, but we haven't. Has anyone ever noticed that the best goal kickers often end up at the best clubs, who pay more and win more? They don't usually sign for sides like Cas who were routed to the bottom of the table all last year. When we've had a few good seasons under our belt, maybe then we can tempt El Masri to come and kick for fun from touch after Owen and Shenny score out wide, but until then we'll have to make do with above average kickers. We can't keep blaming Dicko for not converting from touch in swirling winds (like we did last week also) especially when we have taken far too many wrong options in the game and made some stupid errors, like holding the ball in one hand for example, far more costly than a missed touchline kick.
We seem to be missing the point that Dixon's positional play is simply not good enough and the tries that Hodgson stored in both halves, showed that Dixon came in on the centre who was covered by Evans leaving the extra man. This to me shows that he is not a winger but in fact a centre which is was bought for. Now this is
NOT a witch hunt, but we have a quality established winger on one side, but need a class winger on the other and before you start Wainwright is not the answer. We need a Blanch type player who has the full package.
