At last, the sunlit uplands

I was refering to cooperating with the study.

If you had seen the house you wanted to buy, you wouldn't ask the surveyor to have a look at the house down the road as well when you didn't want to buy that one.

Wakey did not want one of the potential outcomes, what was the point in co-operating? If the study had come out in favour of Newmarket, would the Glasshoughton project have been scrapped? Probably not, I reckon.

Anyway, that's chip paper now. Good luck.

That is the understatement of the year, both clubs have come out of this looking silly and the RFL will not swallow the flannel both sets of fans seem to enjoy.

Biggest game in the championship 2012 cas v wakey darnt lane, see ya there

tb was showing me the club statement over lunch: well worded.

Cas were prepared to co-operate, while Wakefield were not even prepared to consider that.

One comes across as a lot more positive than the other – and it isn't the latter.

Wakefield suspected that the 'independent' feasability study was nothing short of a stitch up engineered by Box when he realised GH was in financial trouble. Cas have been bragging about 'their' stadium for years, yet all of a sudden it's to be a community stadium - c'mon, you're not kidding anyone!

WMDC STATEMENT TO BE RELEASES SOON : Tue Jul 27, 2010 2:51 pm
"The Council has given each club assets to a value of £2m ,subject to a review in September to ascertain the progress made in respect of both planning permission and a robust financial plan being in place. We have also offered officer support. That position has not changed.

"In September, a decision will be made as to whether the £2m facility should be extended. I expect that offer will remain on the table. However, in view of the Council 's budget position, no further financial help will be available from the Council beyond the £2m offer.

"We want to support Rugby League across the district. It is part of our heritage, we are proud of our clubs and want to see them do well. But I can only stress that it is not the core business of this Council - or indeed any council - to determine where Rugby League clubs play. That must be a matter for the clubs alone."

So weve been through all that poop for nothing to have changed, apart from the fact that they may call in the land in september.
