| Quote binks="binks"Again the buck stops with the CEO, if the club were run correctly the only people with the password would be the marketing team. These people would need to get any changes to the website signed off by the CEO before they implemented them.
Trust me this is how it works in the real world with real companys, if said person has made a change without authority then appropriate action should be taken. This would be done behind closed doors'"
Disagree completely as it happens - The MD (Equiv position) of my company and the Chairman don't sign off technical and detailed level changes like that, you have operational management for that and at that level those guys have to be accountable for detailed level changes.
Short sighted view - that's like saying it is the pilot's fault or Richard Branson's fault that a Stewardess called me a pillock and spilled a drink on me on a Virgin flight? Neither of those people, though both senior and operationally in charge of the experience and person in question are their line managers appoint or vet them.
The only thing I agree with is that if someone has ventured off piste, then it is an internal disciplinary matter.

| As an outsider looking in, Cas aren't (on the Admin/management side) a big company, as aren't Wakefield.
There will be very few people full time at the middle to top end of the Hierarchy's on a day to day basis i would imagine. RW is probably where the buck rests, as would JE be at wakey.
In a big company it is very easy for the top man not to be culpable, what with levels of middle management, but i don't think that affects clubs such as ours.
As with most, the top men only like being the top man when there being lauded, not when something isn't quite so fluffy!!!

| Whether this is true or not, the site has obviously been hacked. The line about this on Arundel's profile was in a different sized font. This was probably cut and pasted from somewhere else. All you need to hack a site is the URL of the back-end and the log-in details. Most 'hackers' just keep guessing until they get it right or trick someone into giving them the details. Similar to the phone hacking going on recently.

Quote R.B.A="R.B.A"If you guys remember, Wests played the curtain raiser to your game at Cas a few weeks back. Arundal was due to give a talk to the youngsters before their game. A Cas official with frightening honesty told the kids (and parents) that another player would be taking the talk because Arundal had signed for Hull FC.'"
Make of that what you will.

Yes, because most hackers will have some sort of vendetta to Castleford Tigers but only wish to add a sentence to a player's profile after all their work in 'hacking' the site.

Like Kinleycat says Cas is a small company with very few staff, the CEO should be responsible what else does he do that takes up all day every day.

Were not talking about all hackers ?? just one person, add to that Most hackers do it for fun ( you watch too much NCIS ) the alleged hack may of been just playfull poo stiring, its not that difficult to hack a low tech website if your of that mind believe me.
For what its worth I think its a mistake at Cas, why else would they say it was one and not a hack.

| I can confirm now that the club have swiftly moved to prevent the website from being hacked in the future. Castigers1 is no longer being used as the password. I'm not telling you what it is now, [size=50but it does end in a 2.[/size

| Quote east hull FC fan="east hull FC fan"Do you honestly believe that?
Arundel's agent has already done the deal with Hull FC and Joe has already told Cas he's going, it can't physically be signed or announced due to the anti-tampering law, But it's done.'"
Yes it can.
If Cas have agreed for him to speak to Hull, they can publicise it when they want.
The anti-tampering deadline is only for approaches.
I can tell you now that Arundel has not signed for anyone.
