Hull were pathetic but credit to Cas for putting them to the sword with aplomb.
As for the Hull fans at the railway end in the second half, with "support" like that it's hardly surprising they don't get more from their side.
Whilst I don`t condone giving your own side stick,if you had been watching the dross we have been served up week after week, when it is obvious that some of the players dont give a rats ass, then I think maybe you would understand a bit more.
A quick look at our recent history would show you we've seen much worse, for longer!
O.k. mate,fair comment.What I am trying to say is,if your team gives its all and loses,then o.k.
But it is obvious that some of our players want to be somewhere else. That is not on,we pay good money, and do expect at least effort.
Must say i've found Cas very entertaining to watch this season. Seems Matterson has found the right blend of youth and experience and i think your youth policy has been excellent. Despite your problems with relegation over the past few years your board has stuck by its YD program and is reaping the benefits now.
I hope you make the play-offs and if one of the Hull clubs can't win the comp i hope you lot do.
seriously they were very poor injuries have crippled them and it is disapointing that they had to nplay a bloke with a fractured wrist/hand!
i hope the old men they have signed for next year bring some much need experience out there. also i think thorman and horne have had their days in SL - both were terrible!
Bit unfair, horne was playing out of position at fullback and did alot of things right for hull, one of the few players in there team to emerge with any credit.
If you ignore his inability to deal with the high ball...
Like i said though, not a fullback, i think chase and sherwin are great players for us but if they were forced to play fullback i doubt they would be as impressive.
only long and fitzgibbon are over 30, tansey, o meley are under! reports from australia say fitzgibbon could be the best player to go to england from the nrl in 4 or 5 years! god how we need him!
To be fair though mate, discarding possible player releases we'll have Berrigan, Cusack, Manu, Fitzgibbon, Raynor, Long, Rooney, Thackray, Radford and King all over 30 and Dowes and o'Meley who will both be 29. We are definitely looking like a very old squad next year.
Well done Cas for being great fans and playing the most entertaining rugby to watch in Super League.
It is a shame to see a club I have a soft spot struggle, and the fans of Hull didn't deserve the effort they got from their players yesterday.
I thought we played very well, and did what we had to do get a good victory.
I was shocked by the lack of interest from their team and it was highlighted for me when after Yeaman scored, a scrum was about to be formed, and the Hull players meandered to the scrum as if wasting time, whereas I was expecting 6 Hull players to steam across and form the scrum double quick. I thought a team with fringe players covering injuries would be eager to impress and show their willingness, but it seemed suprisingly lacking.
Also credit the Hull fans who travelled as usual in awesome numbers, and from what I saw 90% of them stayed to clap off their team at the end, and I'm not sure many supporters would stick around in the numbers they did if their team was 20 points down or so.
I'm sure things will pick up and I hope they do. Best of luck for the rest of the season.
