I've no axe to grind on this and of course it is none of my business but why the stress about who is signing?
The likes of Harlequins, Bradford and most definitely Wakefield need to overhaul their squads so a large recruitment policy in place.
Cas are surely in a much better position. The team did well with a lot of young lads who the fans couldn't have known at the beginning of the season how well they would turn out. A potential average squad turned out to be quite good and maybe just ran out of steam at the end of the year. After a season under their belts the kids are going to be stronger.

Aren't you really looking to maybe add to front row and possible strengthen the depth with new kids rather than wholesale changes.
I always thought it spoke volumes when Leeds and Sts were at the top season after season and only made 1-2 signings each year. They kept their best young talent.

Just wondering, but who are you thinking you wouldn't keep from last years team?

Widders has gone. He has saved us on several occasions coming off the bech (Wakefield away for one) and must be replaced with a good quality player. Of the others, Eden and Isa have gone and we don't know about Fozzard and Aspinwall.

We need at least one prop (2 if Fozz leaves), a second rower (2 if Aspinwall leaves) and another back (2 if some kind person takes McGoldrick off us). The frustrating thing is, we had the props on loan. If we had signed Davies and Parker, I think most people would have been happy with that and would only be thinking we need another back to cover the loss of Isa and Eden (again we should have signed these two up as well)

It isn't the lack of signings as such, just the failure of retaining players who were good enough whilst offering no alternative.

Certainly not in a better place than Quins. They're spending up to the cap in 2012 thanks to David Hughes investment. There's no way we'll be anywhere near matching that.

So basically the least sustainable club in Super League is going to live even further beyond its means?

Well as long as they announce it before 10th October so I can decide not to buy my season ticket while they're still on the early bird rate; rather than buy it and be annoyed later.
