| Quote bewildered="bewildered"I think it's rather sad trying to make this whole thing into a joke. Homophobia compared to calling someone a ginger is worlds apart. You might think you are been funny but you are no better than the folk committing the homophobic chants at you hovel of a dump'"
Any form of discrimination is wrong anyone who cant see that is as bad as the homophobes.

| Quote waltontiger="waltontiger"So why quote the redhead incident from the rhino's game?
What was being put up for discussion was abuse as a whole and whether the RFL would be dealing with all things equally....'"
Well that's quite simple. Was it not that the opening poster was saying Leeds should be given a £40k fine like Cas because of the "alleged" redhead incident?
My response was did Leeds have a suspended fine hanging over them or had been warned previosly about controlling supporters?
If you want to treat them all equally then they are only the same if Leeds or any other club had the same warnings and suspended sentence hanging over them. As it stands now, had the opening poster put that because of this incident on Saturday then Leeds should be warned about future controlling of fans, then he might have had a point. But he didn't, he said Leeds should be fined the same as Cas.
What Leeds did on Saturday is put officials into the stand and announced immediately over the tannoy of what there intentions were if the language continued. This is something Cas even failed to begin to do, despite previous warnings and a suspended fine hanging over them.

Erm cas did put officials into the stand and sent warnings out over the tannoy, so leeds did no more than cas did.
So you think leeds should be given a suspended fine if the rfl are employing its respect policy without favour?

I dont live in a slum thanks, havent even seen one since last time i travelled through leeds. Theres plenty of gay and ginger people in cas thanks one of my best friends happens to fall into both catogories.
So tell us why in your head is it ok to abuse one set of people for being who they are, but not ok to abuse another group of people.
All forms of discrimination are wrong, if you cant see that your a bigot.

No, I think if the RFL deem that Leeds mad as little effor in controlling their supporters had Cas had previously done, then they should be warned about it. Which is what Cas were done previously to getting the suspended fine, which was previous to the new fine.
That is what handling equally is.

Why is it that so many Leeds fans appear incapable of posting a rugby related comment on another club's board without making a disparaging remark about their supporter's perceived socio/economic status. The Rhino's fan base really does include some of the most insidious/obnoxious pieces of work you would ever hope not to meet.
Anyway.... while agreeing that our homophobic chanting was more unacceptable than the episode at Headingley on Saturday it is still valid to suggest Leeds have a case to answer in relation to the game's Respect policy.

Given that the abuse of players and officials continued throughout the game, its obvious that leeds did not do a good enough job of controlling the fans. Which is is against the rfls respect policy, therefore it would be fair for leeds to get a warning from the rfl and a fine if it happens again. That is of course if all clubs are treated equally by the rfl. This will prove if they are or not.

No it didn't continue throughout the game. It stopped. But then again without the sky cameras there I wouldn't have even know about it, as I sit in the Carnegie and can not hear much chanting from the southstand most weeks.
But that said, if a warning is deemed then that is fair enough. So you agree that the opening poster has completely gone over the top though?
I take it you will also be putting in your complaints to the RFL about Warrington last week on Sky, and will look for your future episodes for all Sky covered games, since the same language is indeed clearly audible at all games.
The key though is whether a club does something about it, something Cas could learn a lot from previously.

The chanting may have stopped and started but it was heard at the start of the match (6 minutes or so in iirc) and was heard a number of other times during the game (last time i could recall hearing it at about 65 mins i think). The chanting was on a larger scale and for longer duration than cas got fined for.
You may not have heard it at the game but the chanting cas got fined for wasnt heard by most cas fans, anyone in the press box, the refereeing staff or the match commisionaire.
I would agree that first leeds deserve a warning but the fact they deserve one according to the rfls respect policy can be in no doubt.
And yes complaints should be made about the warrington game and all other games featuring abuse of players and officials now that the rfl have set a precedent. We cant have some forms of discrimination ignored or some clubs let of, all should be punished eqaully if the rfl is to prove it has no agenda.

I'm glad you said that. So now I take it you also think that Cas should be penalised further after yesterday's match? I was at your game yesterday, as I am at the majority of your home matches, and you can not get away from the fact that the crowd were singing "the referees a w@n*er", can you now? Nor can you get away with the constant singing of "we all hate Leeds scum, we all hate Leeds scum", along to the music after every score, can you now? where will it stop? I noticed quite clearly a piece of scum walking out of the ground in tears after that 4th try.
