I really don't get the need for the name calling. It baffles me.
I know of an instance where one of the Mods (un-named of course) lowered theirselves to that for no apparent reason.
Though I'm of the same opinion - it's baffling. How on earth people can claim "one-upmanship" from falling to the level of school-yard name calling I've no idea.
CAS/Wakey especially, we all live in the same place, so to me the anomosity related to our derby seems the most ridiculous in UK sport.
From my/our side of it, it cripples me when Wakefield fans call cas fans inbred, or make jokes of that nature. cause 99% of wakefield fans will have a relative somewhere that supports cas and vice versa

No family connections to Cas fans so I must be the 1%. I have a few friends who came out a while ago. My best man is a life long Cas fan. We've known each other for 20 years. We have had a few arguements at games over the years. He didn't talk to me for nearly a month after the "million pound game". But we treat the rivalry in the way it should be in my opinion. We talk rugby all the time. We are interested in what the other club is doing and always comment constructively......until derby game day then we tend to argue about every decision and have a beer and a laugh about it at the end.
I give opposition some choice words on game day, but never anything offensive - if they have a bad game or make a mistake I let them know, that's part of being an opposition fan! but for every other game of the year I can be impartial, and any criticism I personally pass on Wakefield's players, or any other team's, wouldn't ever be baseless - it just knocks your own credibility.
But as for insulting someone purely because of who they support.... it's not for me.
My uncle played for Cas and my wife's a big Cas fan, don't understand the need for the whole childish naming calling myself, insulting someone over the team they follow just shows a lack of class to me
