The players have lost respect for themselves and their jobs.
Made my feelings clear on Casforum- if you back the players in their Sunday "protest" then like at Chelsea you are basically saying that the players group will decide when a manager gets fired - Ask Scolari, AVB etc, and then when the players have someone they can do what they like with and are "happy" they will play and behave as they wish as per John Terry. You can get a bounce out of that in the short term, but ultimately if you want to creat a Huddersfield, Warrington, Leeds personal perfomance culture - then you go with your management model for the long term and have players in it that want IN.
Terry M started to do that - Mason and Westerman were obvious examples, but there were others less obvious. Problem with a team sport is that you can have 15 out of 17 bought in to what you want, but 2 sulkers brings everyone down. To a point the coach job is to unify, but some people will just always be against your plan, so they ruin it for all.
Everyone will have made their feelings known on and after Sunday, lets hope that some clear minds and beliefs come out on Sunday with a commitment to each other to not give it away - getting beat by a better team on the day is fine, but not giving it up matters. don't care what Wakey do to be honest...... If we take care of our business it should not matter.
