I agree that Rangi didn't have the sort of superstar performance he invariably provides in a Cas shirt but as Phil Clarke & Brian Carney noted in the 2nd half, it's a bit different for him at international level cos he's vying for use of the ball with other top playmakers whereas at Cas he is the undisputed number 1.One or two of the pundits pre-game said it was important that he was allowed to play his own game the same way as he does for Cas but it looked very much like he was playing to a structure and trying to be a traditional number 7. Which throws up a bit of a conundrum cos he's risen to prominence on the back of his 'off the cuff' style of play but that might not neccesarily be best suited to the international side.
As to his MoM award. I was a little surprised that he got it (though not as shocked as Eddie Hemmings) but when I thought about it I couldn't recall another player that had a better game than him.
Sinfield stood out in the 1st half but faded in the 2nd, Roby was decent throughout and Jack Reed showed some nice touches notably his try.
I'd have been happy with any 1 of those 4 being awarded it but Rangi seems to have developed a touch of the 'Steven Gerrards' ie. the press seem to work on the basis of he starts the match as favourite for MoM and another player has to do somert spectacular to take it off him
