top weekend only back at work today - rough as hell but well worth it. best away atmosphere i've heard for a long time. and as for the weather it was glorious in Lloret at least 18degrees friday and maybe 20/21 saturday.

oh n 10/10 someone at RFL needs to sneek next seasons fixtures out so i can get lloret booked ASAP!!!

That would've caused a serious neck injury had they dived in.

Brilliant time, but a large part of that has to be because of the great win, that really was something else! Thanks once again to our players for a brilliant display!
Perpignan is a very expensive place to eat and drink, luckily the players found the same bar as we did (the one and only decent bar in Perpignan as far as I'm aware), a heavy cost though at €6.50 a pint, but then every bar we found the cost of a pint was expensive at over €5, some were even charging €4 for a half!

The weather was poor, with almost gale force winds and little in the way of sunshine until Sunday, although can't blame that on the locals, but the streets were littered with dog dirt, which can be blamed on the locals.

Thought another negative, was the fact that there were cars bombing up and down every street in the city, even the narrow one's with very little in the way of a footpath. Nowhere were you safe from the numerous bad drivers, there's little wonder almost every car I saw over there had some dint or other in it.

2009 The Year of the Tiger!!!! (In a rugby league year)

: Tue Mar 10, 2009 3:47 pm
i would agree with the driving standards over there it was disgusting, but we cannot rate a rugby weekend on driving attitudes lol. We had great weather in Lloret not red hot but pleasantly warm.

i did actually have a pint in perpignan though that cost 5.80 which annoyed me but hey i kinda expected it before we got there

gunna book next year again as soon a fixtures are out

I scarcely recognise Perpignan! :)

Dog turds is an issue, but no more so than London in my experience. I've never had a problem with the traffic – even in the old town. And the continent overall is expensive at the minute, due to the falling £ – but if you're going to go somewhere where the local drink in 250ml or 330ml measures and insist on pints, then yes – you're going to pay over the odds ;)

On the other hand, it's a nice friendly city, on the Med (so the wind was a bit bitter at the weekend, but that's what we get for drawing them in early March) with plenty of good bars/ cafes and restaurants, at all prices.

Mind, if you're (that's a generic you, not aimed at danny boy1) the sort who goes abroad, finds the first Irish Bar or other English Pub Clone and opts just for that, you're never going to really enjoy the Continent ;)
