Just seen this on the Hull FC board: On Joe Arundel's bio it says: 'It has recently been announced that he is to sign for Hull FC ahead of the 2013 season' http://www.castigers.com/player/354 His profile seems to have been taken down from the main site....

Well, if it is true does that mean Cas can shop them into the RFL now for an illegal approach?

Clubs are allowed to talk to the players before the anti-tampering deadline as long as the player's club gives them permission.
Basically, any club could talk to a Cas player before the deadline as long as Cas have given them permission.

Why would Cas give a team permission to talk to one of their home grown players they will want to re-sign themselves?

Correct.

Unless Joe Arundel has said in no uncertain terms that he will not sign for Cas.

Regardless of that, Cas have released a statement on Twitter advising it was due to an internal human error and that Joe is a Cas player and is in talks for a new deal.

Am I supposed to know that?

Maybe the club had talks with the player and they failed.

Maybe the player had made it clear that he wished to leave the club.

Maybe the club lacked ambition and wished to see if they could make any money out of it.

I don't know and I didn't claim to. I just explained how it works.

Seems a bit of a poor excuse that, how can you make an error of adding to his bio that he has signed for Hull? Fair enough if it was his DOB that was wrong by a year or something....
