Ian Millward has named his first 19 man squad as Tigers' coach.
1. Richard Owen, 3. Joe Arundel, 4. Kirk Dixon, 5. Josh Griffin, 6. Rangi Chase, 7. Danny Orr (c), 8. Jake Emmitt, 9. Daryl Clark, 11. Brett Ferres, 12. Jonathan Walker, 14. Stuart Jones, 15. Adam Milner, 16. Ryan Hudson, 17. Lee Mitchell, 21. Oliver Holmes, 22. Nathan Massey, 23. Ryan McGoldrick, 24. Steve Nash, 27. John Davies
I think Walker will definately miss out, if you watch Ian Millward's interview on the official site, he basically says this twice. I do honestly think he's worth playing if he came through the York game unscathed, as we were so strongly out-muscled by Wakefield's pack, we need some presence back up the middle. Having said that, Ian Millward is a Super League coach and I'm not, so hopefully he'll show why that is the case on Saturday!
owen dicko arundel ferres griffen chase danny boy emitt milner massey jones holmes davies
mitchell clark walker nash
hudson and goldy to miss out.
If walker doesnt play(and listening to milward interview it sounds like he wont though that could be mind games) hudson or goldy to loose davies on the bench.
I'm suprised too, especially after the rave reviews he got against York. I can't recall him playing against Wakefield, either...
Thompson should have been in for me, he could have played at wing or centre or off the bench, gives us more option and i rate thompson highly. iirc for the last two years matterson didn't use thompson much in the first half of the season, he only played when we had injuries, but both seasons did really well when he got the chance.
Incidentally, an exclamation mark ends a sentence and does not require a full stop. The first letter of the next word begins a new sentence and should therefore be capitalised. Who needs flankers' grammar was actually correct.

Nash & Davies to miss out?
We need Nash or Davies possibly both if Walker doesn't play. Fat feka is playing well for Salford and needs to be stopped.
Walker and Davies to miss out would be my guess - huge step up test for Nash.
Like other posters, very suprised about Jordy Thompson. I think if Griffin is in the 17, that is a start and centre - so Hudson at loose to start and goldy on the bench.

I've not. As many have alluded to, with Huby & Jackson also missing, the absence of Walker would be keenly felt.
I thought JT would be on for a big year, he started to establish himself as an impact back rower last season and with Widders departing I thought he could fill that role. Millward doesn't seem so sure with dropping him down the squad numbers and not playing him here either.
