How can the RFL justify giving Thierry Alibert a home game for the Catalans? For years we had to suffer the likes of John Connelly and Stuart Cummings when Russell Smith was the best ref around simply because he was from Cas. As Morgy would say, "I can't speak".

Could be worse I suppose Wakey have got sh**e Mr Childs, ha ha.

The 'home' ref rule was scrapped several years ago.

Alibert, along with Ganson, has been one of the most consistent refs in the competition this season; something which is, unfortunately, not the case with others.

There's only one Mr Child (I still can't work out why people keep pluralising his name) and we've got him against Warrington next week.

You could look at it the other way and say why does Catalan have to have an English ref when they're playing an English team.

You could look at another way and ask why we have a French team in the first place but then again this has been discussed many times before.

Because it's an awesome away trip; they've built a strong fan base; they've developed a very nice stadium; their games add a unique element to Super League in terms of style and atmosphere.

...and unfortunatly the majority of away fans cant afford/get time off work to travel to support there team.
You never see more than a couple of hundred away fans at that game, less in some cases.

And yet I would still rather have Catalans in the league over Crusaders and Quins

It was supposed to help develope french players but they, (Catalan) couldn't give 2 scoops about junior development,so that side of things have been a waste of time. But likewise would rather have them than cru or quins as Catalan are in a more traditional RL area so are more sustainable.

I must have missed the young French hooker they've brought through called Eloi Pelissier.
