Where to play Goldy : Mon Jul 13, 2009 12:17 pm
If as suspected Sherwin is back for the Salford game...where do we play Goldy???

Owen has been playing excellent at FB, sherwin will take up 7, Westy is playing well at loose, not gonna move Rangi.

I guess that only leaves replacing Widders at Centre.

Thoughts???

Widders hasnt done much wrong either and has made pleanty of decent runs gaining alot of yards!

Id start goldy from the bench.. cant upset a winning team with confidence and imo hes been our weakest player over the last 3 weeks!!!

Widders is a second rower, he should play second row. Stick Goldy into centres and have Widders coming off the bench where he can use his size and speed  to cause a tiring defence more problems.

Yep agree with that. If Macca is not playing well we can use widders as a utility player and stick him in at centre

If we can't upset a winning team then do we play shifty? He throws as many interceps as Goldy!
As Beared has said, Goldy to centre, where IMO he will be deadly, Widders to the bench--some unlucky sod to miss out though. Good position for the club to be in at this time of the year :D

deadly - yeah maybe he will for the other side the guy's one on one defending is terrible maybe an attacking centre but terrible in defence - attackers go through him like a hot knife through butter!

Agree with playing Goldy centre, I was impressed with him when he first cam over as a centre, he seemed to have so much time in defence, his pace enabled him to let an opponent run alongside him and wipe him out, maybe his head on defence wasn't too hot and that's why he tackled in that way, but I seem to remember JJ doing much the same when he used to play centre.

Goldy for centre, Deano from the bench for second row.

I think without Mcgoldrick we're a different side.
He brings alot to the team and it's noticed when he doesn't play.
