Terry Matterson has been speaking about McGoldrick to Wigan rumours here. I wasn't in the press conference after the game on Friday, so it might just be the response to a question posed to him by a Wigan journo, either way: TM wrote: Castleford admit they could be forced to listen to offers for Ryan McGoldrick if Wigan reignite their interest in him. What's strange about that. If Wigan make a big cash offer Cas would have to talk. As I'm sure we would if they came in with £500K for Westy/Shenton etc.

End of the day every player has a price. What happens when Saint Helens comes in with a cash offer for Brough? If its big enough I'm sure Wakey would sell him.

I know it's a hypothetical remark, but in reality, I would seriously expect a zero adding to that figure *.

Before accusations of being ridiculous emerge, I'd like to add: that this pair are truly indispensible - local lads/could easily be the two best players in the Northern hemisphere very soon - assuming the club is relatively stable in financial terms, surely only a huge contribution towards a new stadium could ever compensate such a loss.

* I'm not, of course, for a single minute stating any club could/would ever pay such money.
