Just out of interest, do you think its appropriate for Ian Millward to continue his betting column with Sporting Life now that he is a Super League coach with you guys?

Do you think there may be a certain detriment to Castleford by your coach openly expressing his views of the strengths, weaknesses and overall calibre of the other clubs?

Let him do as he wishes. He can't predict anyway. In a way it's good he knows strengths and weaknesses of other clubs. If he would ever predict us to lose then he needs sacking.

This is absolutely no different to the coaches who regularly do tv work and analyse and make predictions on games.

Yes there is a difference, Millward is our coach , so in the RFL bylaws he must be doing something wrong and we should be fined £40,000.

Its not like we are cheating the salary cap or any other minor offence , is it now ?

I thought along those lines myself when reading his comments the other week ie. could his negative comments about a club come back to bite him so to speak when that club uses his comments as extra motivation the next time they play Cas?

On balance I don't think it'll make any difference. He never bags any club to the extent that the players would think "how dare he - I'll show him!".

I suspect us fans make more of comments by other coaches as a motivating factor than players do. If SL players require an opposition coach to say something mildly negative about them to get 'em motivated for a game then they shouldn't be professional sportsmen...
