2012 Cas shirt presentation - feedback : Wed Jan 18, 2012 7:59 am
Last nights shirt presentation was a very enjoyable evening, with about 80 or so supporters in attendance plus the full squad, Basil and other staff. RW wasn't there! As ever at this stage of the year there is always a good and optimistic vibe in the air, perhaps even more so this year with a new coach at the helm.
There were quite a few common themes coming through from players as they collected their shirts and squad numbers. The most commonly repeated was in regards to a complete new and more professional approach to the coaching techniques, fitness regime, club medics and nutrition for the players. All in all, positive for the future and reflection of inadequacies of the past.
There was also some potentially positive news on the return from injury front. Steve Snitch's reported rib bruising can't be so bad, as he is looking to a decision from Basil in regards to when he can return. Jacko, is hoping to be fit to play against Wakey this weekend. Millington, is hoping to be fit to play within the first couple of months of the season start. Jonny Walker could be back in time for the Salford game. Huby, didn't comment about when he's coming back.
Mitchell is with us at least until the end of the year, but can be recalled by Warrington under certain circumstances and could potentially sign for either at the end of the year.
Danny Orr, is going to decide in the first few months of this season, whether or not to play on next season or to perhaps hang up his boots.
Danny Orr, attended wearing the new away shirt......and it looks very good.
Basil, named the starting line up for the Wakey game and was pretty involving with the supporters who attended. He also went on to emphasize the importance of the atmosphere that we have at the Probiz Coliseum and how such noise and verbal support lifts the players, and can help sway a 50:50 refereeing decision.....so basically keep it up.
So, all in all a good night. A very positive vibe between the players, and let's look forward to a good season ahead.
