Currently enjoyin une bière brun at the Grand Cafe de la Poste next to Le Castllet. Very quiet. Assume most people are in Lloret?

I think the five buses turning up at 5pm proved that LOL! It really was nice and chilled out there on Friday and Saturday!

I've always stayed in the centre of Perpignan and arranged transfers and match tickets etc through Catalans Sport Tours which is an excellent service. A lot of our fans however, stay in Lloret de Mar and arrange coaches to the game (through CST) - the journey is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes.

One thing to bear in mind is that Perpignan is very expensive - a beer is between 5 and 6 euros; an ice cream is 4-5 euros; the steak and chips I had for my tea on Saturday was 15.50, although it really was worth the money. By comparison, Spain is much cheaper; however the hotels in Perpignan are very reasonably priced.

Depends what you're looking for in terms of a holiday. Lloret is favoured by most of our mob largely due to a historical accident (when we first played in there in 2006, the match was due to have been in Girona - but got moved). CST arrange buses, I suspect largely because there's a lot of people involved. What the minimum no of Widnes fans would need to be for them to do a transfer from Lloret to Perpignan you'd have to check with them.

I've never stopped in Lloret, but I gather most of our fans stop in a all-inclusive resort, which makes a drinking weekend cheaper :)

If you fancy a different type of resort, or think Lloret is too far away if arranging your own travel, there are a couple of resort towns/ villages on the French coast (Argelès and Collioure in particular, both with direct train connections to Perprignan, or even Canet Plage, the closes to Perpignan and a short bus ride).

We've spent our last few summer hols in Collioure - it's a quieter town. As I say, it depends on what sort of holiday you fancy.

On prices - like most of Europe, if you're going to drink beer by the pint, you're going to pay for it. On the other hand, you can get a half-litre carafe of local wine with a meal for €4-€6.50.
