Once the referee blows his whistle to stop play (i.e. to disallow the try and order the play the ball 10m out) it'd be harsh to give a knock-on in that situation. With an injury, the player will normally wait (if he's able) until the referee stops the clock before putting the ball down.

 and feeling it this morning!

But he'd already thrown the ball away before the try was disallowed because he thought he had scored, why would he throw the ball away in celebration after the try had been disallowed? Also the Berrigan disallowed try was a poor decision IMO. I actually thought the ref was poor TBH but was not really a factor in the overall result.

Fair enough, so the referee applied some common sense...

Why would he waste his quota of common sense decisions for the season on a game that was already won?

I thought Whiting stopped Dicko grounding the second half try. Great piece of defensive work.

Did anyone else notice Richard Owen doing a "Tommy Martyn" in the second half while Hull were attacking?

Yeah, I agree. Dicko was held up superbly.

Agreed

He was definitely held up

A lot of Cas fans were complaining that he eventually got it down, to which i replied "how long do you wait?"

We need to be carefull with threads like this, We do (rightly) moan alot about referees when we loose but when we win ref always seems to have a good game. Not dissing us cas fans cos most of time our moans are true, just think other fans will quicky be calling us the moaners of SL.

I think the vast majority of cas fans are in agreement that the ref had a (generally) good game on sunday so i cant see our reputation being effected.

I cannot comment on the ref to be honest as it was one of the very few games ive missed all year. I shall take the fans word for it, as yea we are normally right about referee performances.

It happens with all teams. You'd struggle to find a board after a game without a thread with both sets of fans debating incidents.

Fans like to find excuses for why they lost. Decisions they think went against them can be that excuse.
