Accountability : Sun Jun 28, 2009 3:06 pm
First of all I would like to say I cannot take what happned last night both on and off the pitch.
Cas Fans will the mindless few ever learn? What did that acheive last night by throwing bottle etc at catalan players? encited or not! Has badly damaged the club and could land us in hot water.
I know there is gona be a lot of people screaming double standards if we get fined etc due to an incident with leeds etc. But we have no body else to blaim for last night except a small minorty of brainless cas fans.
We have been praised so often this year for our away support Hull FC Wire etc and I beleive people were going barmy when a salford fan threw that flare in the direction of richard owen. So what do we do exactly the same if not worse.
To all involved please hold yourself accountable that you have damaged a club you say you are proud off passionate about and love.
I would also like to say last night referee did paly a part in it but this has been building I think from the Hull Game in edinburgh with Mr Bentham and his decision that cost us the draw or the win. The thing I would like to say on this front is the following.
Coaches of SL Teams = Held accountable if teams does not perform and has to front up to the media each week and get stick from fans and potentially lose their Job.
Players of SL Teams = Held accountable if teams does not perform and has to front up to the media each week and get stick from fans and potentially lose their Job.
Fans of SL Teams = Not held accountable for crowd trouble etc but will affect the relevant club.
Referee's = Where is the accountability? There is none! Make a mistake and get the next weekends biggest game on television. 12,000 plus people hear a hooter and 3 officials miss it leading to a score. Accountability? none the cheif of referees advises home club to get a louder hooter?
I beleive there needs to be accountability from both the RFL and the Referee's either in the form of demotion to championship for a week if they make mistake's or have them to come out and admit that they made a mistake rather than hiding behind the RFL.
RFL = Do they not realise that the complexity of some of the rules leading to mistake by players officails etc is driving people from the game or causing incident last night.
A great point made my A journalist this afternoon on the super league show in relation to the rangi chase incident. Chase gave a penatly away for a misunderstanding or not being able to hear to offical shout play on etc. However you cant takebodys head off and possibly cause serious injury and the same punishement is given. The punishment has got to fit the crime.
Everyone in the working environment is accountable for there actions. However I dont see this at the RFL I hope they take note.
