| is he carrying an injury or just fatigued or was it our defence but he did not look right to me.
He usually gives us the runaround but seemed subdued today.

| Sure, a good pack buys you time, space, possession and yards....all the things that we want in a game. However, if the pack is simply out muscled, we can't just surrender, we need another game plan.
When our pack can't provide the backs with a platform, players like Rangi need to come in from a deeper position. This depth giving them the extra split second to take better aim with positional kicks, to run onto the ball with pace etc etc. All things that we didn't do.
Otherwise teams are going to batter us around the park 'week in week out', and we'll be on here again debating our defence and saying how the opposition were much stronger than us.......Guess what Wigan are going to do to us on Sunday?? We need a plan B, or the outcome will be the same!!!

| Id take him at Leeds and ship Burrow off any day. Chase and McGuire would be an awesome partnership.

| We dont play the ball quick enough in my opinion. When we play quick ball, like the odd occasion last night we can torment teams. Yes we havent got the largest pack in the league, but its the enthusiasm i would like to see in getting up to play the ball asap, wainwright was one of the best in the league, most of the time he got out muscled but he was always first to his feet, allowing us to get on the front foot again.

I agree!!! But if we are slow, then we need depth to give us chance to get some pace in the ball.
Just watch the last 'State of Origin Game'. Both teams notoriously quick defensive lines. To try and counteract this the attacking lines start out deep, and only flatten out once the ball carrier is nearing impact, has drawn the man in and is ready to offload. Contrast this with Cas, we start out flat and don't have anyone coming onto the ball injecting pace, and we get flattened. One of the reasons young Daryl Clarke is playing so well is that his acceleration is fantastic, so he can get up to speed before the minimal space offered by the defending team is closed down. Throw in a few jinky changes in direction, and breaks are made.
He plays a lot like Sam Tomkins, but without he face that everyone wants to slap!!!

| We never get a quick play the ball against Shudds, they are masters at slowing the play the ball down without being penalised, wish we were able to master the technique with being on the wrong end of a penalty.

I don't think we're ever allowed to. A lot of teams seem able to slow us down to the absolute limit of what's allowable as little effort seems to be taken by officials to deter such behaviour, although I don't think 5 and 6 second play the balls are what the RFL aspire to.
The problem we have is how much we let it affect us when our attack is slowed down - always guilty of letting our opponents dictate the pace of the game, rather than do it ourselves.
