I agree with a lot of things said in the pre match posts and disagree with a lot as well.

Firstly I agree that we have obviously lost form and are not playing well and fans are allowed to criticise. However I do not agree with all these sack Calland comments. I think they are absolutely ridiculous. We lose 3 games in a row and we should sack our coach. How fickle. Look where we were before both Matt Calland and Martin Hall came to the club and where we are now.
Only about a month ago people were sayng 'i have a great feeling about the club this year' 'calland and hall have changed fax' 'the club seems more professional than it has in a long time' blah blah blah and yet 4 weeks on your all on here criticisng and talking as though we are bottom of the league. Please lets put this form into a little bit of perspective.

I would also say it wasn't the majority booing the team off at half time and I don't think the majority would agree with getting rid of half our team and our coach. I don't think the booing would have taken place if we had won last week and the week before, don't get me wrong we were very poor in the first half however there was certainly more effort than last week, Whitehaven in my eyes were just the better team.

Also is there any need for us to go on about the country mile comment??? It was said, lets get over it, it was a silly thing to say it but our own fans going on about it all the time isn't going to make other teams forget it is it!? Why not support our coach like other teams do?

I'm not saying we can't post our feelings, or have a good old moan, but please lets have some perspective. All this negativity carrying on much longer will not help the players, MC, or us enjoy the end of the season and the play offs. Look at all the fans of other clubs coming on here and saying they wish they were in our position. Lets just think how we would feel if we were them and were mid table. High expectations are good, but we can't asume we have a divine right to not lose games and to be top of the league just because we started well. This is the most competitve league we have been in for a long time and its exciting to watch.

So please lets get back behind the club we are second in the league and have a lot to cheer about and hopefully good times ahead.

I await the abuse ;-)

That was the most sensible post "by a country mile" that I have read today.

Oh heck there I go with the country mile stuff again.

I think its human nature to want to blame someone when things go wrong and I am sure that the tone would have been different had WE scored in the dying minutes of the game instead of Whitehaven and come on with 25 mins to go we would have all given anything for a bonus point.

This has by far been our best season in many a year and whatever happens we should be proud of that. This is a 3 year process and we shouldnt loose sight of that.

That said i would rather have a home tie in the play offs, so we need to turn it around for the last four games. We cant focus on what Barrow and Whitehaven have to do, we can only face whats in front of us. To say we need to win our remaining games is a bit of an understatement.

agree
we should all be trying to lift the players not getting on their backs
they know they are not playing well and seem to lack confidence.
this time last year we would have been happy to have been topping the league for awhile.

We would indeed, and as I have said we are allowed to criticise but its time to start supporting again.

We only sing when were winning comes to mind, we are very good fans in the good times and get behind the team, but yesterday nobody was singing and getting behind them, I'm not saying I felt like it either but when we are down thats when the players need us to bet behind them as well all know. Also singling out players who will still probably be in the team this week will probably make them play worse so we aren't doing anybody any favours there!

But yes back to winning form please fax :-)

abuse abuse abuse abuse! There you go Claire, you've got some!

I can't comment, didn't go yesterday but I do get the feeling something is going on. Whether that is rugby related or not, but it needs sorting, and fast.

Sacking Calland isn't an option, we need consistency from top to bottom. However, I don't think constantly rotating the squad is helping.

I don't know, if I did, I would be the coach! But we need to get behind the club, players and coaching staff instead of slagging them off.

I keep saying it, rewind a few years and I could of only have dreamt of being top of the league. We are still there, and with teams like Gateshead beating Toulouse, it shows that it is a very open and competitive league. We can't afford to think as fans that we have a divine right to win every week, because the last 3 games have shown, we really don't.

Thanks Claire :-)

I just hope Callands comments on the courier are right and the last 20 minutes will have brought our confidence back ready for Sheffield.

But yes getting rid of him is not an option, and anyone who thinks it is leading up to the play offs is a little nieve

in my opinion i think that th players after the game will have been more dissapointed that they would have been if the game had finished at half time if you get what i mean

we were playing so bad that if we had have played the same way in the second half then it might have been easier to forget about the game.

as it was we produced a stunning and thrilling fightback and for me that would have made the players feel even more down after the game because of coming back so far and then not managing to produce the winning try.

i think after a few days they will be proud of the comeback they made still andgry with the performance overall.

just after the game though i think they will have felt worse losing 50-42 than they would for example losing 36- 18.

i know it probably sounds stupid but i think they will have felt even worse after the game having come so close.
