I always thought he did ok for us but in his last season with us he ended up with a longterm injury and didn't play much.

I agree, thought he was looking good in his last spell with us and was surprised we didn't keep him then. He is still only 24.

Just had a look at him on you tube , looks like a typical Grix player , nothing flashy but runs hard and tackles hard , not the biggest but certainly committed, the Doncaster fans praise him on their forum .

We've an abundance of this type....need at least a couple of line breaking/offloading forwards...

I agree but given what happened with springer it’s clear what Grix wants , we’ve been linked with Alex foster and Titus Gwaze but not seen them play plus we’re getting linked with that many players now it’s getting silly .

I think we've had Alex Foster on loan.

I heard the Alex foster one myself and would be happy to see him at fax but was told that we would not match or better what newcastle are offering him. As for Titus gwaze i have heard that one too and even though london have had a poor season he did get the mom a few times and some good personal reviews from the rl press this season. I think he was at wakefield and got loaned out to oldham for a time before being released and joining london. We have also been linked with brad Knowles from sheffield who is a tough player who could do a good job for us. Huddersfield have got a lot of props on there books at the moment could there be any one there that we could take on a season long loan. But there is always the risk of them being recalled. Cas have released lewis bienk he as size and is quite explosive but as had issues with injuries and i don't think he would be a big minutes prop a bit like springer and i don't think grix likes that type of prop even if it is what some of us fans think we need.

Whichever way SG chooses to go we need to have a pack that doesn’t lose anything on the bench so when the interchanges happen we have the strength and quality to keep a high standard.

Alex Foster would be a good signing at this level. The Gwaze signing looks to be of a raw prop that Grix maybe thinks he can help mould in to what he is after. If the signings all come off looks like we could make a real challenge next season.

Just a side note on Alex Foster we did have him for the odd game during the Marshal era coincidentally I’m sure he played for us away at Fev.
Before that game when he heard he would be coming he rang RM up and assured him that if he was selected he would not simply make up the numbers but would bust a gut for the Blue and Whites.
Shows a great attitude and just the sort of player commitment that’s needed.
Newcastle are going full time next year as far as I know and are looking to get some quality in so have to see how things work out on this one.
Depending on how we go at Fev any incoming announcements will start to follow shortly after likely with the “Welcome Wednesday” slot returning.
