I think with team selection how it has been, Grix is making the statement that he sees neither Joufrett or Walmsley as a full back. Walmsley now has a right battle to get his place back because McComb is consistantly good and our wingers will look good come the dry grounds playing outside two class centres.
As for the game that was just what we needed after last week and it sets us up nicely for next week and we have to pray for some decent weather. It will be a tough game but its another that we should be winning at home.

Who’d be a coach , some brave decisions there leaving out walmsey and jouffret, I can see the logic in leaving walmsey out as saltonstall McComb makes yards driving it out from our half and having arundal and barber in the centres gives us size and they’re both defensively sound , London got no change attacking our back line , Aston also looks defensively sound certainly better than Harris in that department.
The jouffret one is the one I struggle with tbh , Martin had a solid game yesterday and made zero errors and looks a safe pair of hands but I think jouffret adds a bit more coming into the line plus can play multiple positions if necessary. The Mrs ‘ being more of a people watcher than me (nosey cow ) commented after the game that jouffret had a face like a slapped booty and didn’t celebrate when we scored as the others did , you can take it with a pinch of salt but I’d hate to have the repeat of the springer debacle like last year , it’s a real test of grixs’ man management this year , interesting few weeks ahead .

Larger squad this season = bigger headache for coach.

I thought he got the team just about right. In the absence of Worthington need Barber at centre. On the heavy grounds Calcott over Morris. UPF.

Yes the conditions were poor yesterday but my word that was hard work watching that in the first half. I actually thought london played the conditions better for about 50 minutes and then you could see them tiring and we finally got into gear and came home with a wet sail. For me the best players were gwaze, larroyer, garside and callcott played well too. I hope the injury to wood is not a bad one we are picking up a far few at the moment and could do without any more. As for next week we will have to play better then that to win widnes will fancy there chances yes they have beaten sides you would expect them to but they gave us a tough game at our place last season and were unlucky to lose. And then they beat us comfortably at there place so i would expect a tough game. Hopefully the weather can dry up a bit for the game too.

It's a bit late for a good start isn't it? I do however agree that the team as a whole need to step up after last week's awful 2nd half. It is still early days though and I predict a comfortable win today to kick start our season. Up The Fax!

Come on lord Hudd- Shay you know what i mean if we were to win say the next 3 games even taking into account losing at batley that would be a good start for me.

I don't think LW or Jouffret were singled out as you say, more a case of Grix selecting a team for the conditions. As for the game, a dreadful 1st half was followed by a very well managed 2nd half. Two points, job done and Widnes next. Up The Fax! Sportsman, shuddersfield, Ilkley Pale 4.2% Mmm! :DRUNK:

For the first time in years we've got 3 quality halfbacks so there's always going to be 1 disgruntled one. I thought Aston had an excellent game yesterday and complements Keyes really well. While I know there's a desire to find a place for a player as good as Jouffret, Martin is really solid at the back and may well grow into the attacking side as he gets more confidence. Jouffret may get a chance as back up hooker next week if Wood is injured - pleased to see Brandon Moore back to more like his old self in his second spell.

TBF Terry, I'd take that scenario right now.
