Just spoke to Ben in the Ivy House and he is gutted. I just basically said the same to him as you have posted. He will get over it and so shall we. Fax will be back.

Really feel for Ben. Obviously everyone is gutted that was the moment to take us to the final. He would of scored in that situation 999 times out of 1000 it is just so unfortunate it happened at such a crucial moment in such a big game.
We are all gutted but seeing Ben's face at the final whistle said it all for me. Whatever anyone is feeling towards Ben now in terms of anger or disappointment his face definately showed me that he is more angry and disappointed in himself than anyone.
The guy looked close to tears which illustrates the passion he has for this team.
Let's back him, he has been immense for us this year. It just wasn't our day today - clearly the destiny is to win the grand final!!
We will have much bigger games than that later this year so let's take today as a learning curve. Fantastic atmosphere, just a shame we couldn't have pulled it off. I think the south stand roof would have come off had Ben gone over for that try!!!

I reckon we'd have gone on and scored more from then on we were tearing them to pieces at this point. But that gave Widnes a renewed optomism and the pendulum swung dramatically back to them. They are an improved team and will probably go and win the NRC now imo but I still think we are the top team in this league and that doesnt change anything.
Head up Blacky lad you will show them

Good words those.

I dont think anyone has any bad feelings at all towards Ben - he is a brilliant player and a top guy who wears his heart on his sleeve. He was obviously gutted, devastated.

We are all behind ben 100% - but he has to come back from this and redouble his efforts, as do the whole team.

He just had a "halifax" moment!

Spot on that mate, chin up Blacky lad you could have been our hero, it happens and I am sure you will never do that again ever.
It seemed from about the 10th minute like it just was not going to be our day today, and it wasn't.

You are right we were on a Stag Do in Blackpool yesterday and it is just a crass place, just good for Stag and Hen parties.

Still better then any player on the Widnes team.

What about they way we cut you up in the first half and dropped the ball on three occasions. So i wouldn't say he was the only one who cut you up.

Goddard tore you up down the left twice in the first half.

At the end of the day we didn't take our chances, so cost ourselves a vistory. Widnes can't look at any of that game and say we could have scored here or there as you took all your chances. Fair play to you, you won but that's about it. Nothing for fax to fear at your place or in the playoffs.

you can't win every game you play - get over it :P

Incorrect what about TKL'S inside ball to Dodd under the sticks dropped, And Penny caught in two minds failing to take on the full back with his pace and then passing from the ground after being tackled, also must say your 3rd try had just a slight hint of obstruction in it's build up, widnes were'nt great technically today, but were better than fax and the scoreline flattered fax in my opinion, 2 years ago we were flying and it was about this stage of the season were the season smomentum shifted to Cas. Today could be the begiining of a tough patch for you guys, especially after struggling last week against a barrow side that although to be respected, were very fortunate to get past featherstone.
