Could be but on the other hand much of today’s game is all about speed around the ruck which dictates the speed of the team across the park.
As good as Brandon is and was for the Giants he did tire towards the end of the game.
Any 9 doing the full 80 will get fatigued, (especially with the no scrum rule and the quicker restarts) the fatigue slows the attack and leaves him vulnerable in defense.
Added to this if you go with just one 9 and they were to get injured that leaves you with a makeshift pivot, that’s why a lot of teams have gone with 2 hookers in the 17.
A good interchange option at 9 can be a waste or one of the most potent you can have at your disposal.
