Listened on the radio also. Matt Shaw was in a state of bemusement / amazement about how about how bad we were. If Grix can't galvanise them for that game then we don't deserve any playoffs. Still hold that the 1895 is short- term distraction and there will be financial shortfall as I would have though prudent money would be on us making the 6. Either way, a natural transition on the way. A think a significant overhaul must take place of the playing group; I know that some of them have been tied down but Moore, Kavanagh, Larroyer, even Tangata and Salty - time to move on?

A lot of infighting last night on Facebook between board members and ex-board members/sponsors regarding debts, late payments, broken promises and what looks like a possible failed attempt to buy the stadium from the council. It may be doom mongering but if you are reading all that amid the things that have happened the last 2 or 3 weeks and are not concerned are you even a Fax fan? Honestly the way the season has gone, if we had extended Grix's deal I dread to think the state of the club after next season. Hopefully Finn can give us that new coach boost and the board can get things sorted off the field as it a shame to see our club in such a state.

Even though Sheffield lost last night I though Douglas had a decent game

That performance yesterday is totally down to the players that produced it and as with several before you could see which team was running the hardest, tackling hardest and the first to respond to the loose ball.

You could clearly see ALL the Swinton team doing the above basics and showing the same levels of intensity and commitment and their MoM could have gone to anyone of them or even the entire 17.

You could clearly see Fax doing the exact opposite and for our MoM there was just a couple to choose from.

You could even see one or two moments when they were blaming each other when things went wrong looking to shift the responsibility to someone and somewhere else.

On the playing front Grix has seen it and has commented on it several times both publicly and to the players in the build up to the games, more frequently as the season has progressed and had he stayed for some of them time was up and one way or another changes to the squad would have been made in the close season that with a limited set squad couldn’t have been made during the season.

There’s plenty of chatter regarding other areas connected with the club as well, on here, other forums and social media platforms that’s also been gradually building as the season progressed.

Everything is connected and over the next few weeks / months at the longest it will be interesting and informative to see how much the BoD can support Liam Finn on the playing front which will also give a better idea of how things are on the financial front.

I have still not calmed down after watching that yesterday. I just hope the players realise the opportunity they have missed because for the first time in a number of years i genuinely thought we had a chance to gain promotion in the playoffs. There will be less money for coming outside the playoffs how much i do not know but the board have talked about this before so that will not help and we will get less points for the IMG grading then we would of done for finishing in the top 6. I do think the board could do with either releasing a statement just to try and create a positive spin for next year or even do a fans forum so some of the back and forth on facebook between the old and new board can be addressed. As for next year and i do keep repeating myself i feel we need a good clear out especially up front, some players just seem to be going backwards with there performances and like coaches can get stale. I just hope Liam finn can see this and is given the backing to make the changes required.

Take a look at some of the defence ( if that’s what you can call it ) from the Swinton game, cringeworthy.
