It's a strange one isn't it? At the start of the season most Fax supporters would have taken a third place finish. Now it seems possible we appear determined to throw it away. We are three games away from a million pound game and the level of gloom and lack of expectation among most fans is alarming. We should be going into the Batley game beating our chests and building it up as the most important fixture for years. Instead nowt, not a whimper. All very strange.

The doom and gloom is generally around the people that post on here. Never happy. Beat Batley on Sunday and we finish 3rd. Yes we’ve not really hit our straps this year or been playing free flowing rugby but it’s still got us to 3rd.

Whilst I for one agree with some of what you have said it's not the full story by any means.
I can only speak for myself and others may see it completely differently but here goes.

The doom and gloom element is based on the state of the game as a whole as well as what's happening within the confines of our home town club.

Doom for anyone outside SL because for a fact they voted for a breakaway gaining direct full control over themselves and virtually indirect full control over everyone else.

No one else including the RFL and every other club has any meaning full say in what the future holds for the game, it's the sporting equivalent of a dictatorship.
The world of football soon saw what was happening when the so called elite clubs tried it on and it got quickly stamped on but not the world of rugby league when the SL clubs did it.

Gloom because everyone is in the dark and there's a common thread, no one knows what is going to happen to the wider game through lack of information and no on knows what is happening to our own club through lack of information.

As laudable as finishing third is if we Batley or even fourth is if we don't doesn't change anything from the above.

If by doom and gloom you mean as fans we should just stay quite when we think something at the club could be done better well that is not going to happen. As for the above post faxcar i couldn't of put it better myself good post.

The team have done well this season and the directors are trying there best.
Anyone who thinks they can do better get on the board and bring your cash along too.

Watching players of barely amateur ability in front of 1100 fans compared to the 90s of 10x that with top super league standard players.....can see why im discontented...still we're only 75% back to Cawoods days-no need to panic yet... :(

It does feel as though we, the club, have plodded through to the season's end. Reading Simon Grix's comments about his brother Scott's 400 game milestone only endorses the feeling, stating he potentially has two games to play before he retires. Not three? Not four? It makes you wonder.

this post was passed onto the Batley players, and was their inspiration today ..well done

I wish our players were as easily motivated, been fired up by a post that actually compliments them.
