Re: Thread about Trouble after Featherstone game : Thu Jun 16, 2011 10:44 pm
Like I said the other day the proof will be 'in the eating of the pudding' and sadly we got yet more trouble at a Fev v Fax game.I am sure there will be some who will say it was caused by us and some will say it was all down to Fev fans, what I do know is that there was a large group of Fev fans around 20 or probably more who came into the end of the ground where we were at and then it all kicked off and it was vicious.
I pleaded with both sets of fans to leave it out but it fell on deaf ears, 3 or 4 of our fans got too wound up after being hit and would not let it go. To be fair they were well outnumbered and stood their ground but they should have left it but they would not, the Fev fans I saw were lets say a 'rough looking' bunch and would not get away and out of the ground and did have a pop at some of our fans, the stewards struggled to cope and it was not pleasant.
The thing for me is WHY were those Fev fans there and why did they not just go home as it was 10 minutes or more after the game had ended. What happened to the segregation that they promised?
My guess is they wanted to 'have a go' and some of our hotheads gave some back.
Stupid and not what we want at a RL game, I do hope those who are the culprits are on film, especially those cowards who attacked one Fax fan when there were about 10 or more of them, yer he was a bit gobby but not very brave to take one on against 10 is it? if you are talking numbers then it was about 6 Fax numpties and about 30 Fev numpties who caused this for what it is worth, don't make it any better either way.
To have your coach held back for half an hour then lots of police and stewards have to watch you get away from a ground oh and then see an ambulance arrive is sad, very sad.
But the game was excellent lets remember the game please.
