there was not that good an atmosphere saying it was a cup semi final, okay Fev only took about 100 but it was a Thursday night, but you could not hear much from the home fans most of the game.
I hope they enjoy their time while Mr Money bags is around but feel once he goes they will sink quickly back down to lower Championship level.
What an arrogant buffoon.
The atmosphere was superb - better than at Fax last Sunday, believe me.
Regarding Des Johnston and his cash input, we've been hearing the same rubbish about 'it won't last' for the last 3 years. The truth is, it's just started. Des see's this season as just the start of things and is going nowhere.
Why are fans like you so bitter ??
We know our stadium needs a lot of work - we don't need it pointing out week after week, especially from fans of clubs who don't actually have a stadium to call their own.
Plans are due to be announced soon to completely redevelop Craven Park. A lot of work has been going on over many months to make sure that everything is in place before any official announcement.
Our average crowds are only 200-300 lower than Fax and are on par or higher than with well established Champ clubs like Leigh and Haven. Given that we don't get as many away fans as the M62 clubs, I'd say that we get more home fans attending games than all clubs bar Widnes and Fax on a good day.
And this in just our first year in the Championship. Next year we should find it much easier to recruit class players as we have proved we aren't going to be recently promoted whipping boys.
Get used to it - we're here to stay.
BTW I thought that fans I met at Halifax last week were top class. Just a minority on here seem to have a very patronising view of Barrow RL - despite the fact that we've been around since the 1890's and have had many great players and teams over the decades.
