Some interesting comments and views on the recruitment topic. The priority for me is to build on solid foundations and for the long term success of the club both on and off the field.
There is one key caveat for me though and that is not to forget we are in the entertainments industry.
There is so much competition out there now for our money and our business model, whilst showing due diligence on the financials etc, should also have some form of speculative budget to provide and attract the paying customer.
Singing Twist & Shout at the end of every game, whilst providing atmosphere, isn't as good as seeing a class player coming up with some magic that gets you on the edge of your seat every time he has the ball etc.
I have been fortunate enough to watch Fax for over 50 years and have seen some class players/entertainers don the Blue & White during that time. We are due another tranche/individual to kick on from the momemtum currently being built on matchdays and in the community etc.
As the emphasisis both from the RFL and the BOD is ROI then why not do the sums on this player recruitment initiative?
